Get to know Adam
Adam is a former public school band director with his degrees in Music Education, Percussion Performance, and Music Composition from Colorado State University. He taught at Thompson Valley High School, Walt Clark Middle School, Alamogordo High School, and Ignacio Middle/High School. His marching bands and indoor drum lines competed in State and Regional Competitions, and several times advanced to State Finals. His concert and symphonic band programs frequently performed across the region in numerous CHSAA and CBA festivals, and his jazz bands were featured in jazz festivals around the State. During his teaching years, his program produced many All-State and Honor Band members, and many of his students went on to become collegiate and professional musicians.
He is an active musician, playing drums with the nationally-recognized Guerrilla Fanfare Brass Band. Guerrilla Fanfare is the winner of the 2018 Westword Music Award for Best Brass Band, and Scene Magazine ARISE Music Festival ‘Rock the Scene’ Contest. He can be seen rocking on the main stage at numerous music festivals around the country, including ARISE Music Festival (Masonville, CO), Bohemian Nights at New West Fest (Fort Collins, CO), New Belgium’s Tour De Fat (Fort Collins, CO), Westword Music Showcase (Denver, CO), Spread the Word Music Festival (Denver, CO), Honk Fest TX (Austin, TX), and Honk Fest West (Seattle, WA).
Adam is also the Music Director and Co-owner of Q1Go Productions, an educational theatre company focusing on late-high school/early college musical theatre preparation. He is also the Music Director and Pianist for Equinox Theatre Company (Denver, CO), and has also music directed for several other theatre companies across the Front Range.
Adam teaches Piano, Percussion, Guitar, Woodwinds, Brass, and Music Theory/Composition.
