Get to know Kasey
Originally from San Diego, California, Kasey Nahlovsky moved to Denver to attend the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. Now based in Denver as a performer and teacher Kasey enjoys being involved with the well-established music community the city has to offer and is thankful for the growing support the Arts receive in Denver.
Throughout his undergraduate education Kasey’s passion for music grew, he found Romantic Opera, German Lieder, as well as Modern Opera and Art Song to be especially compelling. After completing a Minor in German Kasey could rarely pass an opportunity singing the language as is suited his baritone voice comfortably. Kasey also enjoys the many eras of Musical Theater and how they have contributed to the growth of music culture and society.
Performance features include Masetto in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Dr. Cajus in Nikolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, Ike Skidmore in Rogers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma, and The Professor in Rogers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific with the Lamont School of Music, Lord Savage in Wildhorn’s Jekyll and Hyde with the Aurora Fox, Quinn in Ching’s Speed Dating Tonight! with Emerald City Opera, as well as work with Broomfield’s Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, Denver’s Christ the King Catholic Church, and Glenwood Village’s Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.
Kasey started teaching to help others express their own musical abilities while maintaining healthy vocal function. He finds training the voice as a function of both mind and body builds technique and creates a lasting sense of musicality. Above all else Kasey teaches so students can enjoy making music by feeling comfortable with their voices, and having fun.
