I am Lunai Ki. I was born in Seoul,South Korea, I started learning classical piano at the age of 5. I studied jazz piano and composition at Seoul Institute of the Arts where I acquired a music degree in applied music along with a teaching certification. I have taught many students in Seoul for a period of over 8 years. I moved to Colorado in 2005 and I love living here. Once here, I indulged in learning the art of Latin percussions (congas, bongos, timbales and all the little hand percussion instruments) taught by the wonderful maestro Jose Madera (conguero and music director of Tito Puente Orchestra for 31 years).
I love playing all kinds of music and I cannot wait to pass my passion for learning and playing piano on to my students! These are some of my favorite things other than music:
Cooking organic homemade meals
Finding awesome places to eat out
Visiting beautiful places in Colorado for hiking, camping, fishing and snowboarding
Drawing and painting Zen animal arts
Walking and playing with my doggies.
When I am not teaching piano, most of the times I am with ‘Moses Jones Rock Funk Orchestra’ and ‘Mr. J and the Smooth Expressions’ band where I play keyboards and percussions. We play at many different places in Colorado and we also sometimes travel outside of Colorado to play music.
